At Montsec, don't miss the opportunity to visit the unique planetarium, where you can observe an impressive sky free from light pollution.
The planetarium is a state-of-the-art digital multimedia facility with a 12-meter movable dome. Here, you can experience the new show "We are Stars - Som Estrelles," which explores how we and everything around us are made from materials produced inside stars.
The session concludes with an explanation of the night sky and the opening of the dome to observe the real sky. A specialized technician will help identify some of the night's highlights, such as the Moon, planets, and nebulae.
This facility is part of the Universe Observation Center (COU), where visitors can learn about various instruments and, weather permitting, observe celestial objects like planets and nebulae.
The Central Building of the COU hosts a permanent exhibition covering key aspects of astronomy and space sciences in the Universe Hall. It also dedicates space to the protection of the night environment against light pollution in the Starlight Room.
